❤️ Affection System Guide

Understanding the Affection System is key to unlocking True Endings. Affection is a hidden stat that tracks your relationship with each character. It ranges from -10 to +20.

Pierrot's Affection

  • + Points: Choosing empathetic, gentle, and reassuring options. Listening to his music.
  • - Points: Showing fear, disgust, or interest in the "outside world." Rejection.
  • True Ending Requirement: 10+ Points

Harlequin's Affection

  • + Points: Being bold, sarcastic, and trusting him during dangerous games. "Playing along."
  • - Points: Being boring, passive, begging for mercy, or showing obvious fear.
  • True Ending Requirement: 12+ Points

💡 Pro Tip: Check Your Status

In the Day 2 Update, you can check your approximate affection level by looking at the characters' eyes in the main menu.

  • Glowing Brightly: High Affection (On track for True Ending)
  • Normal/Dull: Neutral Affection
  • Dark/Shadowed: Low Affection (Danger of Bad Ending)

Pierrot Route Endings

True Ending: "The Tearless Face"

Happy EndingDifficulty: Hard

In this ending, you successfully help Pierrot confront his trauma without breaking his spirit. He removes his mask willingly, revealing the human beneath the monster. You both escape the circus's immediate influence, though you remain bound to each other.

How to Unlock:

  • Maintain Affection > 80% throughout Day 1.
  • In Chapter 3, choose "I accept your sadness" instead of "Cheer up".
  • Crucial Point: During the Day 2 Mirror Maze sequence, you must refuse to look at Harlequin's reflection when tempted.
  • Final Choice: Select "Wipe his tears".

Bad Ending: "Porcelain Doll"

Horror EndingCommon

Pierrot's possessiveness consumes him. Believing the outside world is too cruel for you, he decides to "preserve" you forever. You become a living doll in his collection, frozen in eternal silence.

How to Unlock:

  • Show fear or disgust during his "Meltdown" event in Chapter 2.
  • Choose "I want to go home" repeatedly when he asks about your happiness.
  • Fail the "Rhythm Minigame" in the Music Tent 3 times in a row.

Normal Ending: "The Show Goes On"

You fail to break Pierrot's curse, but you survive. You accept your role as his assistant, destined to perform in the circus for eternity. It is a peaceful, albeit trapped, existence.

How to Unlock:

Reach the finale with Affection between 40% and 79%.

Harlequin Route Endings

True Ending: "Partners in Chaos"

Happy EndingDay 2 Updated

You match Harlequin's wit and prove you are not a victim, but an equal. Impressed, he helps you burn down the contract binding you to the Ringmaster. You leave together to cause chaos in the human world.

How to Unlock:

  • Always choose the bold/sarcastic dialogue options. Never show fear.
  • In the "Knife Throwing" minigame, achieve a perfect score.
  • Day 2 Requirement: Find the "Jester's Origianl Mask" item in the Backstage area before the final confrontation.

Bad Ending: "The Final Trick"

You bore Harlequin. He decides that you are no longer fun to play with and incorporates you into his act—literally. The last thing you see is his manic grin as the lights go out.

How to Unlock:

Choose "passive" or "begging" dialogue options. Have Chaos Level < 20% by Chapter 4.

Day 2 Secret Endings (New!)

Ending: "The Doctor's Cure"

A disturbing new ending added in the update. Instead of romance, you seek help from The Doctor. He promises to "fix" your fear permanently. You become his masterpiece—a creature that feels no pain and no emotion.

Unlock Guide:

  1. Reject both Pierrot and Harlequin in Chapter 1.
  2. Visit the Medical Tent 3 days in a row during Free Time.
  3. Collect the "Broken Scalpel" item.
  4. When The Doctor offers you a "sedative" on Day 2 Night, choose "Accept the treatment".

Secret Ending: "The Loop"

The most meta ending in the game. You realize that the circus is a purgatory loop and that you have played this game before. Jester appears to congratulate you on breaking the fourth wall.

Unlock Guide:

  • Complete both Pierrot's and Harlequin's True Endings on the same save file (New Game+).
  • In the Main Menu, click the blinking eye on the logo 10 times.
  • Start a new game and choose the hidden dialogue option: "I know this isn't real".
