How Day 2 Begins

Day 2 begins differently depending on how Day 1 ended:

If you passed out at the circus (Day 1)

You wake up in an unfamiliar bed — likely Pierrot's room — with your ankle chained. This is the most common Day 2 opening and gives you access to Pierrot's exclusive Day 2 content.

If you left the circus voluntarily (Day 1)

You wake up at home but receive a mysterious invitation to return. Harlequin appears at your window. This opening gives access to Harlequin's exclusive Day 2 content.

If you achieved a Day 1 ending

Load your save from before the ending. Day 2 only triggers if Day 1 ends in an "open" state (not a definitive ending).

🗺️ New Areas in Day 2

The Mirror Maze

The most complex area in Day 2. A labyrinth of mirrors where reflections show distorted versions of reality. Key mechanics:

  • Reflections can show you scenes from the past — these contain lore clues
  • Harlequin's reflection appears to tempt you — looking at it affects Pierrot's affection
  • There are 3 hidden mirrors that show Columbina's memories (needed for secret content)
  • The exit changes based on your affection balance — high Pierrot leads left, high Harlequin leads right

The Backstage

A restricted area accessible only in Day 2. Contains crucial items and lore:

  • Jester's Original Mask — Required for Harlequin's True Ending
  • Columbina's Portrait — Reveals her connection to Harlequin
  • The Ringmaster's Office — Contains the diary needed for the Truth Ending
  • Costume Room — Find Carol (your missing coworker) dressed as a Fool

The Medical Tent

The Doctor's domain. Visit here for healing or to pursue the Doctor's Cure ending:

  • Visiting 3 times unlocks the Doctor's route
  • The Broken Scalpel item is hidden in the cabinet
  • Accepting the "sedative" on Day 2 Night triggers the Doctor's Cure ending

🎪 Jester's Play — Complete Analysis

On Day 2, Jester performs a play that is actually a retelling of the circus's true history. Understanding this play is crucial for the Truth Ending.

The Play's Characters (and who they represent):

  • "The Silent Monster" = Pierrot — The one who loves too deeply
  • "The Envious Poison" = Harlequin — The one consumed by jealousy
  • "The Beautiful Dove" = Columbina — The one they both loved
  • "The Puppet Master" = The Ringmaster (Teresa) — The one who orchestrated everything

⚠️ Critical Moment:

During the play, a Fool playing Columbina is actually killed on stage. Your reaction to this event significantly affects your affection scores. Showing horror gives +2 to Pierrot. Staying calm gives +2 to Harlequin. Looking away gives neutral.
